Here is our example of what NOT to do when you're going in for an interview.

  • Forget to do some background research on the company

Being clueless about what the company does shows potential employers that you don’t care. Looking up the company and bringing some background knowledge to the table can go a long way. Employers are looking to hire people who are enthusiastic and show care about what the company is doing.

  • Forget to Clean up your Social Media

Forgetting to clean up your social media can be detrimental, It is common for employers to run background checks. Make sure that you realise your activity on social media will be briefly checked on.

  • Arrive Late

Arriving Late to your interview shows bad time management and a lack of enthusiasm.

  • Talk yourself out of a position

Speak with confidence and purpose. Don't waffle and talk yourself out of a position. Highlight what you can do for them and how they will benefit from hiring you.

  • Dress Inappropriately

Dress for Success, Looking tidy will always create a great first impression. Dress for the industry you are preparing to enter.

  • Leave your Phone on

Leave your phone behind. A phone can interrupt your train of thought and disrupt your talking points. It can also create a negative perception with your employer.

  • Forgot to Bring Copies of your CV

Bringing multiple copies of your CV. It will provide the potential employer with vital information like your work experience and skills. It will also contain your contact details so that they can make the next move.
