YES Campaign Launch Event a Resounding Success!

By Jake McKay | Posted: Friday May 13, 2016

With over 65 attendees,  Youth Employment Success has officially launched, ready to engage and supporting locals working towards a Dunedin that doesn't accept disengaged youth.

An initiative funded by the Ministry fo Social Development, Youth Employment Success has officially launched! In a night filled with food, drinks, and warm fuzzies, we celebrated the beginnings of a Dunedin that speaks up and tackles our youth unemployment issue!

Showcasing local businesses who say YES to Youth Employment Success, we showed video content of the initial group of youth friendly endorsed employers over drinks and nibbles provided by Otago Polytechnics training restaurant, Technique.

A special thank you to out two guest speakers, Emma Hamilton, Labour Market Manager of MSD, and Dougal McGowan,  Cheif Executive of Otago Chamber of Commerce. Discussing how the campaign was conceptualised and the need for communities who are proud of our youth, our speakers messages resonated with and inspired everyone who attended.

Make sure you keep an eye out on out Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts for more Youth Employment Success news over the coming months. We'll be showcasing more success stories and businesses doing their bit to support our local youth. If you're a local business who'd like to be part of our campaign, head over to our website and sign up today.
