What is a YES Open Session?

Dunedin employers are opening their doors to local youth. 

This is a chance for 16-24-year-olds to step inside an industry they are fascinated by, see what goes on,  and ask questions about how to enter the industry.

The Open Sessions will be based on (but not limited to) the following YES opportunities:

  • Business Walkthrough (showing youth through a local business, introducing them to the industry and showing them how each organization operates)

  • Desk Shadowing (job seekers accompany an experienced worker to see what their daily workday looks like)

  • Industry Entry Discussion(discussion of career expectations and what employers are looking for in a given industry)

How YOU Benefit:

  • A glimpse of a ‘day in the life’ in an industry

  • Opportunity to connect with local industry employers

  • Learn about employment pathways and career opportunities

  • Opportunity to ask questions
