What do you want to be when you grow up?

A question asked of us from primary school through to adulthood. For some of us who've been in the workforce for 30+ years, we still can't answer it, so how does a young person?

Perhaps the answer lies in how we phrase the question - what do you love to do? What means something to you? What would you care about doing regardless of any reward?   Answering this and then linking it to the things that you do really well ... at school, college, uni or in a current workplace ... provides the framework for the future. 

Then what?  With a myriad of resources and websites to choose from, it's easy to get lost at that point.  What jobs suits my passions and things I'm good at?  How do I learn what I need to and where can I get training? What job prospects are there and what's the pay like?

The 2017 Occupation Outlook mobile app and webpages are a great starting point!

Occupation Outlook provides an easy-to-use overview of job demand, likely income levels and training requirements for 108 different career pathways that help job seekers and students make good study and career decisions. 

The mobile app sorts occupations by income, fees and job prospect dials; and also has a matching tool for users to rate their current or desired skill levels in 12 broad subject areas to get matching occupations.

Once you've checked out the site and have some ideas of what you'd like to do, why not take it a step further and contact a YES employer for a business walk through or career chat?
