What an incredible evening!
Thank you to everyone who made last night’s Youth Employment Success celebration such a success. In particular, Heidi Renata for the use of her fantastic space up at Innov8HQ, Subway North Dunedin and Gilbert’s Fine Food for the catering, the Chamber for all of their support, and all of our YES employers for their generous prize donations and attendance.
Was so great to hear again from John Allen, Regional Commissioner for Social Development at Ministry of Social Development, who is so passionate about the YES initiative. Darren Jennings, Moran Fabrication, inspired plenty of laughs retelling his most recent experiences working with young people in the workplace. Asking us to reflect upon our own experiences as a young person, and the important people that took a chance on us.
It was fantastic to see so many in attendance to celebrate such a positive movement in youth employment. By the end of the evening, we came away with over 40 businesses interested in becoming a YES Youth-Friendly Employer! We can’t wait to hear the stories of these new employers, and to see what exciting opportunities they have to offer the young people of Dunedin!
If you missed out on signing up on the evening, or would like more information, please send an email to email@example.com
Every opportunity that you can offer a young Dunedin person can make all the difference. I myself have experienced this first hand in the opportunities that Youth Employment Success has offered me.
Thanks again everyone for saying YES to Youth Employment Success!
